TAKING PLACE IN THE CIRCLE

Contributing to the development of team-building skills, Taking your Place in the Circle is also an opportunity to discover the democratic, egalitarian and ecological values of the Huron-Wendat Nation.

This 2 hour activity begins with a guided tour of our permanent exhibition Wendat Endi‘ and of the national longhouse Ekionkiestha’, a reconstitution of an ancestral house which houses reproductions of artifacts.

Finally, at the very end of the visit, we invite participants to form a talking circle and then allow them to use the talking stick: a tool for diplomacy and mutual listening used during meetings or discussions. This exercise will allow them to express themselves on the themes of circular thinking, their roles in society, and their impact on the environment, all while practicing active listening. The activity begins with the creation of a talking stick. The group can then take the stick back to the office or school.

* For groups of 10 people or more (only upon reservation – 30 participants maximum)
**Also available to school groups
***For groups of 20 or more, the Huron-Wendat Museum team reserves the right to make the talking stick in advance; thank you for your understanding.
