TAKING PLACE IN THE CIRCLE
Contributing to the development of team-building skills, Taking your Place in the Circle is also an opportunity to discover the democratic, egalitarian and ecological values of the Huron-Wendat Nation.
This 2.5-hour activity begins with a guided tour of our permanent exhibition, Territories, Memories, Knowledge and of the national longhouse Ekionkiestha’, a reconstitution of an ancestral house which houses reproductions of artifacts.
Finally, placed in a circle around a fire, participants are invited to use the talking stick: a technique of diplomacy and mutual listening used during Council meetings or gatherings. This exercise will allow them to express themselves on the topics of circular thinking, their roles in society and their impact on the environment. The activity ends with the making of a talking stick representing their group reflection.
