The holiday season is always a magical moment to experience with family or friends.
To bring this magic to life, the Hôtel-Musée Premières Nations, in collaboration with the Huron-Wendat Museum, has put together a program that includes activities that will delight both young and old.

Ekionkiestha’ national longhouse visit
Go back to pre-colonial times to experience a night in a traditional longhouse! Accompanied by one of our experienced guide, you will learn more about the Huron-Wendat way of life before the Europeans’ arrival in Canada. The visit of the Ekionkiestha’ national longhouse lasts 45 minutes.
Esk8entesa (the day grows a little) discovery visit
Want to learn more about Huron-Wendat history, culture and way of life? The Esk8entesa discovery tour includes a commented visit of the Huron-Wendat Museum, its exhibits and cultural sites. This activity, which lasts two hours, includes:
- Visit of the permanent exhibition « Territories, memories, knowledge »;
- Visit of the temporary exhibition of the moment;
- Visit of the Ekionkiestha’ national longhouse;
- Visit of the exterior of the Tsawenhohi house, home of the former Grand Chief of the Huron-Wendat Nation, Nicolas Vincent Tsawenhohi;
- Visit of the Notre-Dame-de-la-Lorette church.
Activity on the song Jesous Ahatonhia, drum and decoration Yaronta ’(tree)
Experience the spirit of the oldest Canadian Christmas carol at the Huron-Wendat Museum! The “Jesous ahatonhia” activity, which lasts 30 minutes, will help you discover (or rediscover) the Huron-Wendat language and the story of Father Jean de Brébeuf around 1640. Try to discover the meaning behind some Wendat words and perform as a musician by interpreting Jesous ahatonhia’s musical accompaniment on traditional drums! You will be offered a dictation with Wendat words and accompaniment on traditional drums.
Afterwards, during an art workshop for your holiday tree, you can decorate a piece of bark and write your favorite Wendat word on it.
Holiday cine-museum and introduction to the winter solstice
Would you like to watch your favorite Christmas movie in the captivating atmosphere of the Huron-Wendat Museum? Take advantage of one of our two performances per night! During this activity, you will discover the celebrations of this time of year, according to the Huron-Wendat tradition, watch a holiday film with your family and taste the delicious Huron-Wendat flowered corn flavored with warrior spices (popcorn!).
Experience an independent snowshoeing adventure in nature!
- By bike path (20 minutes to 4 hours)
- Walk around the hotel and through the Knowledge Trail (15 minutes)

The free services are exclusive to guests in accomadation but the activities are available to all.
